The Martindale-Hubbell Lawyer Locator is available online for you to find a lawyer by name, firm, location/practice, corporate, and government.
West Legal Directory lets you search for lawyers by state.
Find-Law-Internet Legal Resources has both a subject list of law resources and a search engine.
The world wide Virtual Law Library-a collection of law related websites. You can use either “search” or “browse”.
AllLaw lets you choose topics from their directory.
CataLaw is the catalog of catalogs of worldwide law on the Internet. It aids legal research by arranging all indexes of law and government into a metaindex.
Gavel to gavel offers a comprehensive index to a whole list of legal topics.
Internet Legal Resource Guideis a categorized index of more than 4000 select web sites with an emphasis on the US. Designed for laypersons also.
URL Law Legal Research Center claims to be “a resource for simple online research.”
The Mining Company offers a starting point for every topic including law.

Michigan Government Web Resources has links for all courts in Michigan, court opinions and more. From the State Appellate Defender Office.

The American Bar Association site also has information for the general public.
Nolo's Legal Encyclopedia takes you through the steps needed to do your own legal research both on-line and in books.
Lawyer's Weekly has a special section on Michigan law.
Legal Information Institute of The Cornell Law School has legal information for you to use. Try the “law about....” section.
'Lectric Law Library has a site tour for you to take on your first visit. Then visit the Rotunda to gain access to legal information. (This site is somewhat tongue-in-cheek)
