Monday Medley

Monday Medley is a 30-minute evening program. Come and be a part of a variety of fun programs for the whole family! Held in the Programming Center at 7 p.m.
Jan. 30: Storytime - Snowy Days is the theme for this storytime. Bundle up and join us for stories and a craft to keep you warm. For ages 3 1/2 to 5 in the Storytime Room.
Feb. 6: Why Do Kids Love Trains? All aboard for this train show, presented by Mary Ellen Clark! Celebrate Black History Month as you learn about an African American author of train books, African American inventors and the story of John Henry, along with lessons about freight trains, passenger trains, the language of train whistles, and importance of hobos. Get ready to sing some train songs, too! Held in the Programming Center
March 5: Storytime - Listen to stories and do a craft with the celestial theme “The Moon and Stars.” For ages 3 1/2-5 in the
Storytime Room.
March 12: Storytime - Fairy Tales - Join us for a fun-filled program based on fairy tales. For ages 3 1/2-5 in the Storytime Room.
March 19: Craft Program: It’s a Jungle in Here! Join us for a special Monday Medley craft program. Children ages 3 1/2-5 will make jungle-themed animal crafts, including a monkey, giraffe and elephant. Held in the Programming Center.

Tuesday Storytime

Tuesday Storytime is a traditional childrens activity for independent listeners ages 3-5 in the Storytime Room. Children must be able to attend unaccompanied by a caregiver for the 30-minute program featuring popular themes, stories, flannel board tales, and related activities. Starts at 10:30 a.m.

Tuesday Toddler Time

Tuesday Toddler Time, held in the Programming Center, is designed for children ages 2-3 with a caregiver. Stories and active creative fun await you at this 30-minute program. Starts at 10:30 a.m.

Wonderful Wednesdays

Wonderful Wednesdays mean fun at the library on Wednesday in the Programming Center. Family storytimes are for all ages. Trio selections feature a story, a movie, and a craft all in one morning. Families or caregivers are invited to share in both types of programs. 1-2-3 Chat is a social time for families of young children. Materials, books, crafts and a treat are available from 10 a.m. until noon on selected dates.

Pokemon Time

Pokemon fans: This program is just for you! Bring your cards, games and other paraphernalia to show, tell, and trade. This is a time for you to meet other fans, play your games, and talk about all things Pokemon. Yu Gi-Oh fans: Youre welcome to bring your cards and games to Pokemon, too! Snacks are provided, and caregivers are welcome. Sessions include:
Saturday, Feb. 4, 2-4 p.m.
Saturday, March 3, 2-4 p.m.
Saturday, March 31, 2-4 p.m.

Library Legos!

NEW in 2012: Join us at our first ever Library Legos session on Saturday, April 21 from 2:30-4 p.m. in the Programming Center. For this first session, participants can build for the first hour and then take part in a staff-led show and tell for the final half hour. Future Library Legos sessions may include stories and themes for building. Participants should bring their own bins of Legos for this program; a limited amount will be available for children who need them. Snacks will be provided and parents or caregivers are welcome to stay.

Cute and Cuddlies Animal Show

Little ones are invited to check out animals that are as tiny, cute and cuddly as they are when Dan the Creature Man comes to the library Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 10:30 a.m. Come see the little guys of the animal kingdom, such as a chinchilla, rabbit, parrots, lizards and more.

Mr. Seley and the Troublemakers

It’s time to rock at the library when Mr. Seley and The Troublemakers come to town on Saturday, March 10 at 2:30 p.m. With songs like Cupcakeasaurus and Eat Your Books (And Read Your Vegetables), this free concert is targeted for tweens, but great for the entire family. Seley, who is a 3rd and 4th grade teacher by day, says he decided to write music specifically for ‘tweens when he realized little quality music existed specifically for 8-to-12-year-olds. Registration is not necessary for this event.

Puppets to Go

He says you can’t catch him, but is it true? Come see a puppet presentation of The Gingerbread Man when Nancy Henk of Puppets to Go comes to the library on Wednesday, March 28 at 10:30 a.m. Perfect for little ones, this performance will also include a little bit of show and tell about the puppets themselves.

Spring Break Magic Show with Jeff Wawrzaszek

Get ready to be baffled and amazed as Magician Jeff Wawrzaszek presents fast-paced and amazing magic tricks on Wednesday, April 4 at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome at this Spring Break Magic Show. Get ready for family fun!

Spring Crafts

Spring is near. Help welcome the season with some fun crafts on Tuesday, April 10 at 10:30 a.m. Materials will be provided. Parents and/or caregivers are welcome.

Scavenger Hunt

Get to know your library during National Library Week by going on a scavenger hunt! On Thursday, April 12 from 9:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. follow the clues through the children’s room and get a prize when you are done.

Spring Movie

Little ones and their parents/caregivers are invited to a spring-themed movie. On Wednesday, April 18 at 10:30 a.m., we’ll be showing Elmo’s Rainbow, a 45-minute film.

Paws for Reading

Children and pets have a special bond because animals do not judge, correct, or interrupt a reader. Our specially certified dogs will welcome readers on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Dates include: Jan. 31; Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28; March 6, 13, 20 and 27; and April 10, 17 and 24 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.. It will be first-come, first-served and each child will read for a 15-minute interval. This is a child and pet ONLY program. Caregivers are invited to stay within the Youth Services area. Your child is welcome to bring their own book or select one from our cart. The program is held in the Storytime Room. Stop by the reference desk when you arrive to pick up your sign-in number.
