Health A to Z - access to thousands of medical resources. Covers a broad range of medical categories.
Medscape contains over 7,000 full-text articles on the latest medical research. Also offers free MEDLINE.
Healthfinder is good source for general information on medical subjects and diseases.
NOAH: bilingual directory of online health resources with an excellent list of subjects.

The incidence and mortality of skin cancer have increased exponentially during the past several decades, and every year the figure mounts.

Recipe Source is the home of SOAR (a large searchable online archive of recipes) you can search by ethnic source or special diet.

FoodGeeks offers more than 6,000 recipes by category. Also try the “what’s in your kitchen” search for dinner tonight.

Weight Control Tools & Calculators

 

Body mass index (BMI) is a number that indicates whether you are at the right weight for your height. Many sites on the Web can calculate your BMI and explain what your result means.
The CDC offers a BMI calculator in both English and metric calculations.
NHLNI (National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute) offers their own BMI calculator along with risk assessments.
First Gov offers Partnership for Healthy Weight Management with a BMI index and some practical weight loss advice.
Web HealthCentre.com is a healthcare portal offering comprehensive healthcare information along with BI information.
Calories Per Hour calculates not only your BMI but also how many calories you would burn in a day if you did absolutely nothing. It has a list of hundreds of activities and can calculate how many calories you would burn doing each.
The Nutrition Analysis Tools and System have been designed to allow you to analyze your diet.
Charlie's Clinical Calculators offers a heart disease risk calculator plus others.
The National Cholesterol Education Program offers risk calculators for heart attacks.
USDA: government info for calories, fat, cholesterol, etc.
Calorie control.org offers a weight maintenance calculator.

Keep in mind when you use these calculators that their questionnaires can't cover every relevant point. Web calculators can alert you to possible problems, but they cannot replace your health care team.
