1. Michigan eLibrary, by the Library of Michigan, is an anywhere, anytime information gateway to selected Internet resources.

2. Internet Public Library, from the University of Michigan School of Information, offers links to the net by subject.

3. Librarian's Guide to the Internet is a directory of 11,000+ sites, arranged by subject, selected and evaluated by librarians for their usefulness to users of public libraries.

4. RefDesk indexes quality Internet sites. This is a huge index for every topic imaginable.

5. US Postal Service offers zip codes, mailing directions and calculations, label printing and more.

6. How Stuff Works, don't have a clue how something works? This site answers questions for you. Great for parents trying to help with homework.

7.  Inteli Search lets you look for people and phone numbers. You can also do background searches for a fee.

8. All Music Guide has everything you ever wanted to know about music.

9. Baseball Reference is the ultimate online baseball encyclopedia with statistics from 1871 on.

10. Internet Legal Resource Guide is a categorized index of more than 4000 select web sites with an emphasis on the US. Designed for laypersons also.

11. The Riley Guide is an index to the over 13,000 sites devoted to some aspect of job hunting. Listing is kept very up-to-date.

12. Go to the National Weather Service site for weather forecasts both national and local. Also offers weather history, safety information, and more.

13. Congress.org, a service of Capital Advantage, specializes in civic participation. You can look up local and national politicians, review current legislation, and write and read letters to your leaders.
