Thursday, July 29 from 10 a.m. - noon: Internet 101:
Don’t let the Internet overwhelm you. This session, for the beginner, will
discuss how to get connected, Internet Service Providers, dial-up, cable and
DSL hookups, wireless access, browsers, and search tools.
Thursday, Aug. 12 from 10 a.m. - noon: Internet Tips and
Tricks: This class covers Internet information including virus
prevention, cookies, firewalls, ad-blockers, spy checkers, and other
security issues. We’ll show you how to update your browser and change your
Internet preferences.
Thursday, Aug. 26 from 10 a.m. - noon: Mastering Facebook:
The social networking site Facebook is a great way to
get in touch with long-lost friends and classmates, keep in touch with
family, share information with others and find out information about
businesses, non-profits and other entities. This class will teach how to set
up a Facebook profile and most importantly how to effectively use the site
while still protecting your personal information, privacy and computer.
