Check out the
library's Facebook page and blog!
The Sterling Heights Public Library is
offering more ways than ever to find information about what we offer!
Programs, events, services and even what we’re reading can now be found
online on our blog:
sterlingheightspubliclibrary.blogspot.com and on our Facebook page. If
you are on Facebook, become our fan and you’ll receive updates and postings
from our blog. The page’s name is “Sterling Heights Public Library.” Links
to both can be found on the upper right hand corner, here on our home page.
The blog offers a few great options for receiving information, too.
Subscribe to our RSS feed and receive information through any RSS reader
(e.g. Google Reader, Yahoo, etc.). The blog’s sidebar also includes the
ability to subscribe to the blog by entering your e-mail account. That way,
new postings including everything going on at the library will be delivered
right to your inbox, and you won’t miss a thing! As always, you can find
information here, on our official Web site.
Be a part of the
Children's Art Garden!
The
Sterling Heights Public Library has embarked upon a challenge
that will improve upon the already stellar
service provided for the area's youth - a Children's Art Garden. The vision
for this literary garden, which is already underway, comes complete with
colorful seasonal plantings that appeal to children, an area where children
can plant seeds and watch them grow and plenty of rooms for story times and
independent reading for children and their families. We can't achieve this
goal without your help! Click
HERE for more
information on the garden and to learn how to be part of this project.
Wii games available
Make sure to look for Wii games! New games
are coming all the time and are available for checkout.

out a pass to more than 20 local arts and cultural organizations. Check it

Service
offers news on latest books
The library offers a book newsletter service.
Click on the
Book News link to the right. You will see a
list of 21 newsletters on various book genres. You can click on "read" to
read the newsletter which has a list of new titles in that genre with a
description. There is even a link to the library's catalog so you can put
the book on hold. You also have the option of having the newsletter e-mailed
to you once a month. Thanks to the Friends of the Library for funding
this service.
Library offers downloadable
digital books
The library has added
downloadable digital audio books to our collection. To use the new service,
simply click on the link on the left. You will then use the MLC’s digital
library. You will need your library card number. For listening-on-the-go,
you can transfer the audio book to your portable MP3 device. All titles are
also listed in the online library catalog. For a guided tour, you can use
the Overdrive Company's tutorial by clicking
